After a successful opening weekend, and a fun, delicious Gourmet Wine Dinner Party last night, we are in full swing around here! The flowers are in, the horses are on their way and the disc golf course is being prepared for the big tournament on the 30th of June and the 1st of July.

We've endured several foggy and rainy days so far, however, the overcast weather broke long enough this morning to snap some great pictures of the Alpine Inn, which is now OPEN DAILY from 7am to 9:30pm! For those sunny days, which we hope to have many of up here this summer, the Alpine Inn Restaurant is boasting scenic outdoor patio seating!

We've also been seeing a little of the helicopter logging that is going on up here lately. They are currently taking down a bunch of trees to make way for the construction of the new Northway Chairlift that is set to be open this upcoming ski season 2007-2008.

Here are the latest photos of our General Manager's 10-month-old son, Deeson! He was up with Daddy today taking care of business on the mountain!

Phase I Complete

Our maintenance crews worked diligently for weeks to complete Phase I of our Bridge Repair Project in time for the opening of our Summer Season 2007 this weekend!

On Friday, June 15th, all three hotels and the Alpine Inn Restaurant and the Snorting Elk will be open for business until the 15th of September.

We have enjoyed several sunny, beautiful, bluebird days already this summer up here on the mountain. I even took my first dirt-trail hike of the season yesterday! The trail to Henskin Lake is mostly melted out with thick snow patches near the top only. The elk have been out in force and we have even been doing some grilling outside the Alpine Inn...all wonderful signs of summer!

Aside from our Gourmet Wine Dinner and Summer Kick-Off Party on June 22nd, we are having another great event here on Saturday, June 30th & Sunday, July 1st: The Crystal Mountain "Mountain High Doubles" Disc Golf Tournament! This will be the first of a few Disc Golf Tournaments we will host at our Disc Golf Course and the Snorting Elk Cellar this summer.

Bridge Construction Continues...

We, here at Crystal Mountain Hotels, are making the most of our off-season time by preparing our beloved foot-bridge for its much-needed repair project!

As I mentioned in the last post, this summer will be the last season that our footbridge will be around in its original form. Come winter, the bridge will be newly repaired and will be quite different than you might remember! The current construction is only Phase I of the entire bridge project.

As promised, here are more photos of the ongoing bridge work.

DO REMEMBER, THE BRIDGE WILL BE TRAVELABLE ALL SUMMER! We will be ready for guests by our opening weekend June 15th.

Also, don't forget our SUMMER KICK-OFF PARTY! Friday, June 22nd is the day to be at the Alpine Inn. We will be holding a Gourmet Wine Dinner - four gourmet courses along with expertly paired wines from regions relatively new to wine-making. It is sure to be a great time!
